So, we were bored on Saturday

| Jul 30, 2008

And we were feeling adventurous, curious, and wasn't thinking straight (as usual), because we went to a place, where we shouldn't.

Jules, Victor (a ex-uni mate, who is also a lead guitarist now) went on an adventure to the Highland Towers. Sounds familiar? Okay, let me refresh your memory if the name is running around and fuck, you just can't recall what is it.

"The Highland Towers collapse was an apartment building (condominium) collapse that occurred on December 11, 1993, in Taman Hillview, Ulu Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The collapse of one block caused the deaths of 48 people and led to the complete evacuation of the other two blocks due to safety concerns.
The Highland Towers were three blocks of 12-story apartment, each block was respectively named Block 1, Block 2 and Block 3. Block 1 collapsed when 10 continuous days of rainfall led to a
landslide after the retaining wall at the Tower's car park failed.

After the tragedy, The Highland Towers memorial was placed at the site of Block 1.
The Highland Towers still stand today, although they are now almost completely overgrown by the Jungle. In recent years, they have been the site of much vandalism and the buildings are now in almost complete disarray and ruin. Rather eerily, the abandoned towers continue to loom out of the green density of the jungle, looking out over the Taman Hillview area."

So, I volunteered to drive and after a quick glance at wikimapia.org, I recognised the MRR2 stretch, but couldn't really remember the exit. We called up some people who might be familiar with the way, and we were warned, not once, but twice, to not go there. lol.

We went pass the posh housing area, and damn, couldn't find a road or entrance. We were only able to see the towers from a distance away. Even it was quite far, the scene of the abandoned building was unbelievable. It was dark, quiet due to a really rich, and secluded area. We stopped at a junction, the towers were on our left. We looked, and looked, and was in the midst of "how the hell did that happened".

While they were busy looking at the towers on our left, as a driver, I kept turning to my right to keep guard. If something were to appear and surprise us on my window or shits like that lol.

Victor wasn't satisfied, he wanted to get a closer look, so we went through any exit, junction, where there's road, we masuk only la. But to no avail, partly, I was kinda scared too. Then we went to a place called Jalan Pimping. But seriously, the houses, cars, even the guards are really pimped. This is the first time I've seen a brand new Nissan GTR-35 parked outside of the house under a "atap roof parking lot". How pimped is that now. =/
