This is another update!

| Jan 16, 2008

Ok, I'm here updating because it's a rather quiet morning in the office and I've got some ideas of what to blog about! YES, I'm here to express my dissatisfaction of the Works Minister in Malaysia! Just like everybody else, we complain and complain and some of us just go, "What can we do, just live with it lor." Well, yea, but here I just want to tell you how I feel about them.

The infrastructure overeall is okay. Of course, we are a big country, and it's maybe difficult to use centralization of many things due to the cost. But, please be reminded we have RESOURCES! Yes, we have OIL, and compared to the little island below us, they don't. They started of scratch.

So, what's the difference between us and them? Well, I can say that they have got more functional brains than us, their government CARE about the citizens, but I wouldn't say ours doesn't care about us, just not as much. I was rather uneased when I heard 2 friends of mine talking about how we are gonna surpass them in all kinds of sector. Well, I'm not being typical, nor being on the bandwagon of fanboi that only knows how to complain and complain and complain. I've got points. Keep reading my friends.

Very firstly, I would like to point out the matter that annoy me the most in the morning. THE JAM! Well, I believe I can still cope with it because I have good music to listen to =D. But, being a jakun little boy who lived in Sabah where there aren't as much cars. Shifted to a quiet and peaceful town called Melaka, I find these jams a little fascinating and gets me wondering, that's why I'm still not as annoyed.

Okay, first of, why aren't we as good as THEM? Please be noted, I'm not anti or pro of any party of the statement below. Just another thought! =)

1. I have to go through this every morning. Not the jam, but UNECESSARY PEDESTRIAN CROSSING. FUCK! Why do we need a pedestrian crossing between Avenue K and KLCC?! Press the button YAY! Stop 50 cars from each side rushing to work and only 2 humans, crossing the damn road. Isn't there a fucking underpass which also connects all of you to the damn LRT!!! Down there, in the little island, there's no pedestrian crossing unless there's a cross junction where car will eventually stop for the cars from the other side. At the same time the pedestrian can cross. So, no cars will stop at the middle of the road, and only 2 creatures crossing the road.

2. Speaking of LRTs, why do we have LRTs? Why not something BIGGER? It's the city for fucks sake. We need bigger railway transit to accomodate more people so that everyone can get to their destination without much hassle. Yes, when I got to thought why didn't they build bigger transits. It's because the congestions in the train stations which also lead people to drive car to work. Just like me. And from what I can see every morning. There are no cars that has more than 2 people in it. It's either people like me, alone, or people with husband/wife/colleague/housemate/etc. Max people per car 2 people. People rather drive than take the LRT. Okay, maybe some of them need to use the car during office hours to meet client and stuff. But not all of them ma.

Didn't they think about the "GROWTH IN THE COUNTRY" which also means more people will come to the city to contribute their knowledge and skills to the economy. Of course they did. Sure they estimated growth rate and all but they don't care, "Okay, we just build LRT la, cheap ma. The growth thing. Later only see la". They can tender for millions. They also maybe able to keep half of their tender for themselves.

Then when problems like these arise, they tender again lo, "Okay, this congestion is getting out of hand, we need new transit, let's tender again. YAY we get to keep another half of the money! w00t" LRT, 3 seats between doors. If I can have an estimation of how many people can get on to that transit...well, I can't, it's too damn small and little I can't find it anywhere. It's so small, the frequency during rush hour is 6-7 minutes OH MY! In the little island, from my very own experience, their train is much larger, and during rush hour, frequency 2 MINUTES. Dei, how la?

3. The highway/expressway/lebuhraya which isn't very EXPRESS. LDP for example. Didn't the ministry expect, estimate, or calculate that Petaling Jaya will be another great town and is developing so vastly when they build the LDP? 2 lanes! YAY!
Some might ask, why 2 lanes? Maybe the infrastructure of the landscape or there are nearby residential or whatever. Maybe they wanna save cost. But hey, aren't we paying to use it? There are a total of 4 tolls which collect RM 1.60 each. Damn!

That's for now! I have nothing against the country or anything. But the discussion between my friends got me thinking about this. And do you think I'm right? Please leave comments with sense in it and correct me if you think i'm not right. Thanks!
